- Local Network (Wi-Fi): Required to discover and connect to Smart TVs on your home network.
- Infrared (IR) Blaster: Required to control older TVs using your phone's built-in IR transmitter (if available).
- Vibration: Used to provide haptic feedback when you press buttons.
How the App Works
When you use Universal TV Mate:
- The app scans your local Wi-Fi network to find compatible TV devices.
- All communication happens directly between your phone and your TV over your local network.
- Your saved devices and preferences are stored locally on your phone.
- No control data passes through our servers.
Advertising
Our app uses Google AdMob to display advertisements. AdMob may collect:
- Device advertising identifier (Advertising ID)
- IP address
- Device information
This information is used to show you relevant advertisements. You can opt-out of personalized ads:
- Through the consent dialog shown when you first open the app
- In your device settings under "Ads" or "Privacy"
- By resetting your Advertising ID
